Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - SECONDARY SCHOOL CATEGORY

  1. Who is eligible to participate in the SIC 2026?

The Singapore Infocomm Challenge (SIC) is open to Primary 3 to Primary 6 and Secondary 1 to Secondary 5 students.
Details on the Primary School competition categories and requirements can be found in the Primary School SIC Information Pack.

For the Secondary School Category, teams must consist of 2 to 4 students and be supported by a teacher facilitator who will assist with registration and submissions.

 

  1. What are the competition categories for the Secondary School Category?

Participants can enter in one of the following categories:

    • Short Vertical Reels
    • Animation
  1. How can students register for the competition?

Registration is open from March to 31 May 2026.

Schools are required to complete registration online via Eventbrite and make a one-time $5 payment to participate in the competition.

There is no limit to the number of submissions per school; however, only one $5 payment is required per school, regardless of the number of entries submitted. 

Late registrations will not be accepted.

  1. What is the submission deadline for projects?

All entries must be submitted via the official competition portal by Sunday, 31 May 2026, 11:59PM.
Please ensure that your school has completed registration and made the required payment via Eventbrite prior to submission.

 

  1. Can students submit entries in multiple categories?

Yes, students are allowed to participate in multiple categories. Teams may choose to join both Short Vertical Reels and Animation if they wish 

 

  1. What are the technical requirements for submissions?
    • Short Vertical Reels: Submissions must be in MP4, AVI, or MOV format, and include a PDF write-up summarizing the reel’s message (100 – 500 words).
    • Animation:  Submissions must be in MP4, AVI, or MOV format, and include a PDF write-up summarizing the animation’s message (100-500 words).
  1. Are there any restrictions on the use of third-party materials?

Yes, all submissions must be original works. If using third-party materials, teams must ensure proper licensing and credit all sources of media, audio, or external materials.

 

  1. What are the judging criteria for entries?

Entries will be judged on creativity and originality, animation or video quality and technique, adherence to the competition theme, and the clarity and quality of presentation and documentation.

 

  1. What prizes will be awarded to winners?

Awards will be given in each category for outstanding engagement, design, and creativity.

 

  1. How will winners be announced?

Results will be announced on July 2026  via an online link

 

  1. What should teams do in case of technical issues during submission?

Teams experiencing technical difficulties should notify the organizing team well in advance of the deadline by emailing to support@infocommchallenge.com. 

Late submissions due to technical issues will only be accepted with prior notification and valid justification.
